A digital signature is a mathematical technique that verifies the authenticity of digital documents, messages, or software. It is a type of electronic signature (e-signature) that uses a certificate-based Digital ID.

A digital signature:

  • Confirms that the information has not been altered.
  • Confirms that the information originated from the signer.
  • Digital signatures are used to authenticate digital information such as: Email messages, Macros, Electronic documents, Form templates, Forms.
  • Provides key information like the message’s origin, its status, and the signer’s consent.

To apply for a Digital Signature Certificate in India, you can:

  • Fill in the necessary details
  • Go to the Certifying Authorities website
  • Pay for DSC
  • Provide proof of identity and address
  • Receive your DSC
